What is Taste of Norway?​

Taste of Norway is a seasonal Norwegian buffet restaurant in Bergen, offering authentic local dishes in a unique setting inspired by Norwegian nature and traditions.

Here, you can experience the flavors of Norway all in one place, from fjord to mountain.

From May to September, we offer our full buffet experience in the main restaurant.

All year round, we also offer seating in Little Taste of Norway, a smaller and more intimate area at the front of the venue, where we serve breakfast, sharing boards, and smaller dishes.

We are located in Bergen city center, just a short walk from the main attractions.

Public transport:

What are your opening hours?​

Opening hours (daily) in UTC+1/CET:

• Breakfast: 08:00–11:00

• Lunch: 12:00–16:00

• Dinner: 16:30–21:00

Opening hours may vary depending on events and holidays. Please always check our website for up-to-date information.

Taste of Norway reserves the right to adjust menus, seating arrangements, or service flow based on operational needs, high demand, or special events.

 

How long can we stay?​

Guests can enjoy the buffet for up to 2 hours within their reserved time slot.

 

What type of food do you serve?

Breakfast is served as a continental buffet. During lunch and dinner, we offer a Norwegian buffet with both hot and cold traditional dishes showcasing flavors from across the country.

Examples of lunch/dinner include:

• Reindeer meatballs with game sauce, mashed potatoes, and lingonberries

• Salmon patties with sour cream

• Herring on rye bread

• Sour cream porridge with traditional butter

• Norwegian waffles with sour cream and jam

• Rice cream with berry sauce
   

Lunch and dinner also include a small dessert buffet.

If you are looking for a lighter meal, or visiting outside the season when the main restaurant is closed, we offer sharing boards and individual dishes in the front part of the venue.

This cozy and intimate experience is open all year round, known as Little Taste of Norway, and offers a smaller taste of popular Norwegian dishes in a relaxed setting.

Do you offer à la carte or table service?

No. Taste of Norway operates solely as a buffet restaurant.

We can offer à la carte or three-course menus if the entire restaurant is rented for a private event. In such cases, we are happy to discuss specific dishes you would like to serve.

 

 

Do you offer cocktail dinners or gala dinners?

These are only available for private events with approximately 200–400 guests.​​

No. Prices are fixed year-round and do not vary between weekdays, weekends, or holidays.

We can accommodate approximately 150–160 guests at the same time, depending on availability.

Yes, groups are usually seated together.
During busy periods, groups may be split across nearby tables.

Do you offer complimentary meals for guides or drivers?

Yes, for tour operators we work with, we offer:

• 1 free meal for driver + guide for groups of 15+ paying guests

• For 30+ paying guests, 1 additional complimentary meal

 

Do you offer discounts for tour operators?

Yes. Tour operators sending 500+ guests per year can contact us for special agreements and pricing.

 

Do you offer packed lunches?

Packed lunches can be arranged upon request.
Pricing depends on group size and requirements.

How do we book?

We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak season.

What is your cancellation policy?

• 50% charge if cancelled 7 days or less before arrival

• 100% charge if cancelled 48 hours or less before arrival, or in case of no-show

Cancellations must be made through the booking system.
