Booking:

Bookings are valid for 2 hours from start of booking.

 

It is possible to come without a reservation, but we strongly recommend booking in advance, as we are very busy, especially in the afternoon and on weekends.

 

Booking takes a few minutes, via our online booking system.

  • Adult:

    • Breakfast - 199,-

    • Lunch - 299,-

    • Dinner - Kr 399,-

  • Children 6–12 år:

    • Breakfast - 99,-

    • Lunch - 199,-

    • Dinner - 299,-

  • Children up to 5 years: Free

  • Drinks, apart from tap water, are not included in the price, but we have a full liquor license and a lot of good things to choose from at the bar, with and without alcohol.

Buffet and serving:

The buffet offers a wide selection of traditional Norwegian dishes. You’ll also find vegetarian options and some sweet endings. All food is prepared with a focus on local ingredients and flavor, as well as showcasing Norwegian culinary heritage. Here, you can learn fascinating stories behind the dishes while enjoying delicious flavors in a truly unique setting — with the Northern Lights dancing above you and surrounded by Norwegian forest.

Allergies and Dietary Requirements:

The dishes are marked with allergens, but if there is something you cannot tolerate, we will accommodate as best we can.

Practical information:

Taste of Norway is a seasonal dining concept in the heart of Bergen, open from May 1st to September 11th.

Enjoy our delicious buffet and discover traditional Norwegian dishes, prepared and cherished for generations.

  • Breakfast is continental and served from 08:00 to 11:00.

  • Lunch is served from 12:00 to 16:00 and features a buffet with a greater selection of cold dishes than hot dishes.

  • Dinner is served from 17:00 to 21:00, offering our largest selection of dishes, including a wider variety of hot meals.

Between meal services, we remain open, although the buffet selection may be somewhat reduced while we prepare for the next service.

 

You can also reserve a table at our cozy sister restaurant, Little Taste of Norway.

Here, we serve breakfast, sharing platters, and à la carte dishes throughout the year.

How to find your way to Taste of Norway

Taste of Norway is located in ByRommet – a distinctive and atmospheric venue at Kong Oscars gate 24, right in the heart of Bergen. From here, you're just a short walk away from iconic attractions like Bryggen, Fløibanen, the Fish Market, and the city's many shopping streets.

How to reach us:

  • Walking distance from Bergen Train Station and Festplassen (approx. 5–7 min)

  • Several bus and light rail stops nearby – the closest is Toget (4 min walk)

  • Parking available in Klostergarasjen and Bygarasjen (approx. 10 min walk from both)

At the entrance, you'll spot our sign on the sidewalk and recognize the distinctive archway that marks the way into Taste of Norway. Here, our friendly staff will warmly welcome you and guide you to your table.
